Yesterday I was listening to an audio of SRi Sai Baba wherein he said a car can be compared to the Human Body.He explained it so beautifully.I Decided to put down whatever little I could absorb from the talk.
The headlights of a car are similar to the eyes of the human, they show us the direction and help us to see where we are going. The horn of the car is compared to the mouth. The steering wheel is the mind which decides the direction our life would take. The petrol tank is compared to the stomach. It is important to feed in order to be healthy. The four wheels of the car are compared to the four Purusharthas,Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.
Just as the air pressure in a car need to be adjusted so that the car does not lose balance while moving. So also a human being should be able to control their desires and accquisition of wealth and pursuit of unwanted luxuries. If we lead regulated lives our lives would be peaceful. If we follow the path path of Dharma then we will ultimate attain Moksha.
A healthy Mind Has A Healthy Body.In order to keep our mind and body healthy we need to live a life of discipline and self control. It is also important to lead a simple life.Spending our lives in search of wealth will only lead to health problems, and in turn thsi will lead to loss of peace of mind, unhappiness and so on.If we are unhappy then we spread unhappiness around us too.In the process we end up spending more and more money on our ill health. There is a quote which I read once which says "A human being spend one half of his life running behind money without bothering for his health and the other half is spent in spending all the money earned to take care of his health".
So the best course for a human is to take the path of spirituality and make himself aware of all his doings.
If we take the path of spirituality then not only will we be healthy, happy and enjoy peace all the time, we can also encourage others to follow the path. This can in turn make so many more people lead happy and peaceful lives.A large number of happy and peaceful people is indeed good for the society is it not???
This is and has been the mission of all the Enlightened Masters.
Jai Gurudev.
