I was just watching this video
and thought it was simply brilliant.I am absolutely amazed at the way children teach themselves even in remote villages where they have minimum or no facilities.Left to themselves and given some basic facilities children can indeed do wonders.
I am also amazed that there are such brilliant and innovative people who come out with novel ways of educating children.
Good teachers would wish to teach in good and popular schools as is the most common.If a good teacher reaches out to a remote village school where there are truly deserving children it would be so rewarding for both the teacher and student.
It is a most common in the present days that coaching classes have a minimum marks requirement to admit children.They generally do not take children who actually could do with that extra help actually.Instead they take the task of upgrading a child who gets above 90%to 95%or more.I would have thought it more satisfying to see a child with average or below average marks do well and gain the confidence that they too are capable with a little help.
It is just that the poor children many times do not get the opportunity to use their brilliance.Even without having seen a computer and knowing nothing about the way a computer works, they can in a couple of months teach themselves and their friends too so many things.Awesome,indeed.
Hats off to such people who take up such noble and wonderful tasks of reaching out to those who do need it all.I do wish and pray that more and more children living in remote villages are reached out to and there will come a day when we can proudly claim that every child in our country has certain access to basic education.
